Konami was recently at Comic Con 2008 in San Diego and had Silent Hill Homecoming on display. In this clip we see an interview and some new gameplay footage. Some of the weapons are discussed and we watch Alex fight some of the classic monsters that have become a staple of the series. The graphics are incredibly polished and smooth, and the game appears to be shaping up to be simply amazing. As a quick side note, the combat looks improved over the earlier games in the franchise. It seems to be more fluid and not so clunky. Enjoy!
A Russian magazine called Igromania have somehow got their hands on Silent Hill Homecoming gameplay footage that appears to be from an older PS3 build. Although the audio for this clip is in Russian, it may contain spoilers so watch at your own risk. An interesting feature of this video is that we get to see the dialogue tree in action - Alex can respond to questions and statements differently resulting in dynamic conversations - and, of course, a higher replayability factor.
Here’s yet another gameplay video for Silent Hill Homecoming. In this clip, we see Alex in a graveyard of some sorts when he is attacked by a monster. The combat looks great in this sequence, although I’m kind of upset to see the inclusion of a mini-game (tapping buttons to onscreen prompts). Mini games were included in SH: Origins too, and that’s one of the only points about the game I didn’t like. All in all, the battle seems pretty fluid when compared to other SH titles, and all the blood and gore seems to still be in fact. The finishing sequence on the monster looks awesome. Take a watch.
